REVIEW: Milani Conceal + Perfect Foundation

Today I wanted to share with you one of my recent, favorite foundations!

First, I want to explain my skin and what I look for in a foundation. I have oily and some times dehydrated skin. I also have a lot of redness in my skin. So what I want on a daily basis is full coverage and long wearing. I know that may not be everyones cup of tea but it is what I prefer.

I first discovered this foundation through the one and only Tati Westbrook aka Glam Life Guru. I am in avid watcher of her videos and if she approves of it, you know that it is great!

Now, the first task was to find the foundation. I live in middle Georgia and finding Milani is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Especially new products or extensive collections of their products. I don’t know why it is so hard to find but so it is.

It was about a year ago when I was out of town and spotted it. As I was not into self tanning at the time, I grabbed the lightest shade. I tested it out only to discover that even shade 01 was too dark. I may have used it a couple of times and putting on the back of the shelf.

Milani Swatches
Shade 01 Creamy Vanilla and Shade 03 Light Beige

Well, about a month ago, I got tired of being a pale girl and slapped on some self- tanner. I have a review of that coming up soon!

Surprisingly, it was almost too light this time around. But, it has become one of my go too bases. It covers all of my redness in one layer and last all day. And, I don’t think that it feels heavy on the skin despite that fact that it is a pretty thick formula. A little bit goes a long way!

As you can see in the above swatches, Shade 01 is very yellow. That was part of the problem as to why it was not matching. Shade 03 is much more neutral in tone and works much better for my skin. I would recommending checking out their website to look at the descriptions of the colors. I think it helps in determining which shade might work for you best as it describes the undertones for each shade.

In store, I have never seen more than 6-7 shades but if you go to the website there are 15 colors in the line. I would have to say that is a pretty good range for a drugstore foundation considering most only have options for light skinned people. They do have a range from light to dark. The finish is more natural than dewy or matte. That is why i think the it will work for many different skin types. and have a I mentioned that it is only $10!

Moral of the story, this has become my Holy Grail Foundation. Especially since I found a better shade match. I definitely recommend anyone trying it out if you are searching for a new foundation.
